He was predeceased by: his parents, Albert Robert Dale Carpenter and Ruby Carpenter (Wiggins); his siblings, John Carpenter and Robin Carpenter; and his great grandchild Connor Carpenter.
He is survived by: his wife Carolyn Carpenter (Williams); his children, Mitsy Carpenter of Centralia, Carol Carpenter-Littlefield (Harold) of Marion, Gina Carpenter-Kehn (Ronald) of Florissant, MO and Jason Carpenter of Centralia; his grandchildren, Erica Carpenter, Christian Braun, Jessica Carpenter, Keith Carpenter, Kersey Braun, Savannah Kehn, Myah Carpenter and Macie Kehn; and his brother Patrick Carpenter of Centralia. He is also survived by several great-grandchildren.
