Bates, Ivory L. Bates, Hazel Bates, Velma Lewis, Wilma Abrams and Vivian P. Bates; his grandchildren, Vernon B. Jones Jr., Mark Patrick, Michelle Simmons and Myra Simmons; his great grandchildren, Loxianna Moore, Mack Calek Herron and Christoff Spann; and his mother-in-law Mary Taylor.
He is survived by: his wife Glenda Lee (Bufkin); his children, Irene Young (John), Lisa Jones (late Vernon), Rowena Johnson Patrick (late Matthew II) and Garland Johnson (late Barbara) of Centralia; his daughter-in-law Vickie Bates of Pontiac, Michigan; his children, Timothy H. Lee of Centralia, Tekoa L. Lee of Centralia and Benjamin Glen Lee of Centralia; and his sister Carrie B. James (late George) of Alexandria, VA. He is also survived by nieces, nephew, cousin and friends.
