He was predeceased by: his parents, Walter D. Knight and Odessa Olive Simpson Knight; his siblings, Lee Knight, Paul Knight, Harl Knight, Dan Knight, Helen Ross and Kathleen Knight; and his daughter Diana Smith.

He is survived by: his wife Lynda Sue Darr; his children, Gregory Martin Knight of Jamaica Township, Jeffrey William Knight (Debi) of Jamaica, Illinois and Jennifer Lynn Risher (Tim) of Metamora, Illinois; his sisters, Alice McDowell (Jim) of Catlin and Norma Miller of Indianola, Illinois; his grandchildren, Sarah Michelle Knight, Jason Jeffrey Knight (Lesley), Seth Martin Knight (Carmen), Brandon Smith and Nathan Smith (Kelly); and his great grandchildren, Reese Knight, Rylee Knight, Jensen Knight, Kayden Smith, Austin Smith, Brycen Smith and Cee Cee Smith.
