He was predeceased by: his parents, George and Mable; his son Brian Pirie; his grandson Michael Pirie; his siblings, Ruth Sedlacek and James Pirie; and his brothers-in-law, James Smith and Donald Strickler.
He is survived by: his children, Brenda Hawkins (Chris) of Manassas and Brent Pirie of Orlando, Fla.; his daughter-in-law Bonnie Pirie of Catlin, Ill.; his siblings, Edward Pirie (Laurine) of Pocahontas, Iowa, Helen Smith of O'Fallon, Nancy Strickler of Des Moines, Iowa and Judith Sorsby (Sam) of Emory, Texas; his siblings-in-law, Gordon Sedlacek and Dorothy Pirie; and his wife Bette Rae. He is also survived by 9 grandchildren, and 14 great-grandchildren.
