He was predeceased by: his siblings, Robert and Carolyn; and his brother-in-law McDowell. He is survived by: his children, Tracy Garwood (Barbara) of Eldorado Hills, CA, Michael Garwood (Jeana) of Catlin, Debra Belleau (Ken) of Charleston and Diane Corsaro (Roger) of Champaign; his grandchildren, Amy Grace, Jenny Grace, John Grace, Erika Grace, Stuart Grace, Patrick Grace, Paige Grace and Taylor Grace; and his great grandchildren, Peighton, Tyler, Adalyn, Austin, Aliyah and Nolan.

Memorial donations may be given in Harold's name to Carle Hospice or Alzheimer's Association.
