It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Ruth Marie Wright of Caseyville, Illinois, born in Taneyville, Missouri, who passed away on February 6, 2025, at the age of 95, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her father William Smiley (Arizona); her husband Charles A. Wright; her siblings, Joseph Smiley and Alice Pescagline (Smiley); and her granddaughter LeAnna Hawkins (Rice).
She is survived by: her children, Chester W. Rice Jr. (Shirley) of St. Clair, Betty Louise Cochran (Dartan) of Caseyville, Ronald N. Rice (Maggie) of Fredonia, KS., Anita I. Clonts (Harold) of Leasburg and Patricia D. Allen (Phillip) of Wicklife, KY; her sisters, Betty Watson of California and Nita Frey of California; and her grandchildren, Chester Wayne Rice III (Michelle), Cynthia Messinger (Kirk), James D. Cochran (Jenifer), John M. Cochran, Jimmie Patterson (Becky), Terry Patterson (Tina), Theresa Faileaso (Samoa), Stephanee Schiding (Bryan), Ron Rice (Amber), Jennifer Hill (Ron), Jaclyn Allen and Justin Allen. She is also survived by twenty-one great-grandchildren; fifteen great-great-grandchildren and many other relatives and friends.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, February 19th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Midlawn Funeral Home (7280 State Hwy 47, Union, MO 63084). A funeral service was held on Thursday, February 20th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the same location. A graveside service was held on Thursday, February 20th 2025 at 12:45 PM at the Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery (2900 Sheridan Rd, St. Louis, MO 63125).
