She is survived by: her parents, James Backstrom and Dorthy Backstrom (Standal) of Collinsville, IL; her brother Greg (Rita); her son Joseph (Kara); her nieces, Claire Simmons (Nick) and Grace Backstrom (Logan Phillips); her nephew Nathan (Julianne); and her granddaughter Olivia Tricomi.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Metro East Humane Society or The Stroke Foundation, honoring Kim's love for animals and supporting vital health research and awareness.
