He was predeceased by: his father Albert (Mabel Dorothy); and his siblings, Leatrice Schanuel, Virginia Jenkins, Richard Revoire, Verna Mae Schanuel, Charles Schanuel, Theodore Schanuel, Raymond Schanuel, Sandra Schanuel and Terry Schanuel.
He is survived by: his wife Della; his children, Beth Ann Sleeter (Kevin) of Fairview Heights, Tracie Ficker (Vernon) of Swansea and Jason Schanuel (Regina Feldmann) of Caseyville; his grandchildren, Zachary, Joshua (Marissa), Sarah Sleeter (Tyler), Holly, Hannah, Henry Ficker, David, Andrew and Jacob Schanuel; and his siblings, Kenneth Schanuel, Norman "Buck" Schanuel, Greta Smith, William Schanuel, Doug Schanuel and Barbara Diane Cannon.
