He was predeceased by: his parents, William Ryan and Helen Ryan; his sister Helene; and his niece Suzanne. He is survived by: his wife Elizabeth D. Ryan; his children, Timothy, Jennifer, Robert and Mark (Stephanie); his grandchildren, Charlie and Colton Ryan; and his siblings, Greg and Virginia. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
