She was predeceased by: her parents, John Larsen and Virginia Larsen; and her sister Judy. She is survived by: her husband Robert A. Lowe of Cary; her children, Laura Masson (Rob) and David Simandl (Jen); her stepson Anthony Lowe; her brothers, John Larsen and Mark Larsen (Diane); her grandchildren, Oliver, Virginia, Breanna, Anthony, Christopher and Eva; and her niece Valerie Larsen.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Chicago Botanic Gardens, Northern Illinois Food Bank, The Red Cross or The Salvation Army.
