We are sad to announce that on February 10, 2025, at the age of 90, Merlin Johnson Tobias of Carthage, Illinois passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Onno Tobias and Matilda Tobias (Paben); his wife Anna Ramah Tobias; his son-in-law Rick Ruggiero; and his grandson Justin Tobias.
He is survived by: his children, Becca Ruggiero, Keenan Tobias, Kent Tobias (Sandy), Debra Twaddle (Mark) and Kory Tobias (Andrea Hapke); his grandchildren, Roxanne Tobias, Orinda Gillham (Jeff), Spencer Twaddle (Keely Walker), Ryan Twaddle, Katherine Twaddle and Kari Tobias; and his great grandchildren, Lyle Gillham, Charlotte Gillham, Jake Tobias-Moore and Evey Tobias-Moore.
Visitation was held on Friday, February 14th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Printy Funeral Home (405 Cherry St, Carthage, IL 62321). A funeral service was held on Saturday, February 15th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the Immanuel Lutheran Church (921 N Co Rd 1900, Carthage, IL 62321). A burial was held on Saturday, February 15th 2025 at the Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery (968 N Co Rd 1900, Carthage, IL 62321).
Memorials may be made out to the Golden Good Shepherd Home, Blessing Hospice, or Immanuel Lutheran Church.
