It is with great sadness that we announce the death of John Kent Hobbs of Carthage, Illinois, born in Collinsville, Illinois, who passed away on July 12, 2024, at the age of 78, leaving to mourn family and friends. He is survived by: his sister Gloria Travaille; his wife Patricia (Pat); his son William Hobbs (Carrie); and his grandchildren, Vivian and Alex.
While living in Hancock County, he proudly helped found the Retired Seniors Volunteer Program (RSVP), a first-of-its-kind senior services group in the five surrounding counties.
