He was predeceased by: his parents, William E. Icenogle and Wilma Jean Curtis (Bauser); his wife Carolyn Kay Huls; and his stepfather Clyde Curtis. He is survived by: his children, Steven James Icenogle (Megan) of Aledo, IL and Jennifer Lynn Meeks (Christopher) of Carthage, IL; his grandchildren, Jessie, Dalton, Zachary Icenogle, Samuel and Benjamin Meeks; his siblings, Eldon "Butch" Icenogle of Keokuk, IA, Dennis Icenogle (Kate) of Blandinsville, IL, Debra Bordenkircher of Mt. Sterling, IL, Barbara Bailey (Roger) of Hannibal, MO and Shelly Petrey (Hank) of Eubank, KY; and his siblings-in-law, Carla Crossland (Kenneth) of Bowen, IL, Nancy Huls of Carthage, IL and Lester Huls (Yvonne) of Carthage, IL. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Memorials may be made to continue his legacy in the Boy Scouts to Troop 72 of Carthage, or to his church family, Immanuel Lutheran Church of Carthage.
