It is with great sadness that we announce the death of James Franklin Hampton of Carterville, Illinois, born in Carbondale, Illinois, who passed away on November 6, 2024, at the age of 84, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, James Franklin and Wilma Lucille Hampton (Ashoff). He is survived by: his wife Carol A. North-Hampton; his children, Mary Lynne Hampton, James Michael Hampton and John Hampton (Alicia); his grandchildren, Andrew Hampton (Emma), Emily Matthias (Lewis), Molly Hampton, Claire Hampton and Grace Hampton; his great grandchild Graham Matthias; his brother Tom Hampton (Karen); his niece Jamie Wright (Robert); and his nephew Ethan Hampton (Cara). He is also survived by many great nieces and nephews; and many friends.
Visitation was held on Saturday, November 16th 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Riggin-Pillatsch & Burke Funeral Home (322 N Division St, Carterville, IL 62918). A memorial service was held on Saturday, November 16th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
