He is survived by: his wife Cathy Allen of Carterville; his children, Debbie Allen Murphy of DeSoto, Bertie Moore of Carterville and Jeff Alstat (Jacinta) of Pomona; his grandchildren, Ryan Brooks (Beth) of Murphysboro, John Patterson (Erin) of Champaign, Kody Boyd of Carbondale, Josh Alstat (Emily) of Makanda, Andrew Alstat of Pomona, Brooke Schimdgall of Carbondale, Bridget Buffington of Makanda, Daltun Hasty of Carterville, Lyndsay Timmons of St. Louis, Allie Hartwick-Pearsley (Jimmy) of Carterville and Delaynie Dearmond of DuQuoin; his siblings, Bob Allen (Linda) of Polson, Roger Allen of Jacksonville, Illinois and Maxine Ball (Walt) of Sayre, Pennsylvania; his nieces and nephews, Brad Allen (Jeanie) of Wenatchee, Becki Allen, Rachel Allen of Jacksonville, Michelle Garvey of Galax, Virginia and Ashley Bigler (Nick) of Atlanta, Georgia; and his friends, Steve Hess, George Calhoun (Connie), Keith Boze (Barbara), Bill Hasty and Frank Gunderson (Donna). He is also survived by 15 great-grandchildren.
