It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Ernie Alan Crain of Carterville, Illinois, born in Herrin, Illinois, who passed away on February 23, 2023, at the age of 74, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Russell Ray and Vera Francine Crain (Anglin); his sister Vickie Lee Crain; and his siblings-in-law, Phillip Penrod and Carolyn Rendleman.
He is survived by: his wife Sherry Crain of Carbondale; his children, Matt Crain (Julie), Kelly Webb (Tom) and Jason Crain (Dana); his stepson Jeremy Schaefer (Corinne); his grandchildren, Zach Ury, Ryleigh Clover, Abbey Crain, Maddox Crain, Logan Webb, Mason Webb, Landrey Crain, Baylor Webb and Violet Schaefer; his sister Rosie Penrod; and his siblings-in-law, Barbara Arnold (Robert) and Jake Rendleman. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews; and a host of friends.
