He was predeceased by: his parents, James Amos and Lola Ethel Evans (Henderson); his brother James Lonnie Evans; his son James "Jimmy" Evans; his son-in-law Joseph Greenlee; and his sister-in-law Shirley Watson.
He is survived by: his wife Betty Evans of Carterville; his children, Donnie Evans (Sherrill) of Carterville and Tana Greenlee of Carterville; his grandchildren, Cassandra Dann (Michael) of Energy, Anna Huniak of Hamel, Emily Lohnes (Ian) of Cheyenne, Jonathan Evans of Carterville, Jamey LaBotte of Carterville, Kelsey Oxford (Casey) of Marion, Amy Zelasko (Colin) of Carterville and Adam Greenlee (Kristin) of Cincinnati, Ohio; and his siblings-in-law, Starlette Rowatt (John), Alice Hoover (Lowell) and James Rowland (Georgia). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Due to the current situation with the COVID-19 pandemic, the increased activity and how it has personally affected our family, Private graveside services will be held for immediate family only.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the family to help pay funeral expenses, to First Baptist Church Building Fund, or to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
