He was predeceased by: his parents, Columbus Elroy and Della Evans (Mitchell); his wife Iva Rae (Crowder); his children, Jeffrey Evans and Norma Jean Evans; and his grandson Michael Drake.

He is survived by: his sons, Jerry Evans (Mary) of Carterville and Donald Lewis Evans (Carolee) of Unionville, Illinois; and his grandchildren, Bobbi Jo Evans, Jerry Evans Jr. (Ashley), Robert Evans of Paducah, Donald Lee Evans (Melissa) of Joppa, Teresa Worthen of Golconda, Patricia Nagel (Ronnie) of Germany and Jeffery Evans Jr. of Germany. He is also survived by 14 great grandchildren; 6 great great-grandchildren.
