He was predeceased by: his parents, Carlton "Sonny" and Awanda Palmer (Jones); his brother-in-law John Hovenga; and his granddaughter Natalie Pender. He is survived by: his wife Vicki Ann Bishop (Vaughn); his daughters, Lesley Gould of Cambria and Ashley Mize of Herrin; his grandchildren, Teresa Pender and Julian Mize; his sister Lynola Hovenga; his nieces and nephews, Tracy Galloway (David), Christopher Hovenga and Chris Crawford; and his great-niece Brittany Galloway.
