It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Barbara Nelson (Carterville, Illinois), born in Carbondale, Illinois, who passed away on March 8, 2020, at the age of 78, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Leo Ernest and Waneda Baxter (Russell); her daughter Angela Hess; and her brothers, Joe Sr., Jesse and Baxter.
She is survived by: her husband Eddie Nelson of Carterville; her son Wade Nelson (Lisa) of Makanda; her grandchildren, Ashley Hess of Herrin, Ferrol Hess of Carterville, Joshawa Hess (Michelle) of Carterville, Wyatt Nelson of Makanda, Brittany Hunter (Dallas) of Auburn, Brandee Beltz of Herrin and Brandon Beltz of Makanda; her great grandchildren, Dalton Hess, Gabriel Hess, Haidyn Clover, London Shadowens, Logan Fortner, J. J. Beltz, Neko Allen, Nova Hunter, Kora Hunter and Lola Hunter; and her son-in-law Randy Hess of Carterville. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
