He was predeceased by: his parents, John "Jay" and Martha M. Winget (Rossin); and his brother Kenneth Ray Winget. He is survived by: his former wife Pamela Jo Greeney; his wife Pam Winget of Carterville; his children, Tammy Wallace of Carterville and Donnie Winget (Shane Yackle) of Carterville; his granddaughter Abby Stalker of Carterville; his sisters, Ellen Gooden (Jerry) of Carterville and Vickie Winget of Carterville; his mother-in-law Pauline Oakley of Carterville; his siblings-in-law, Carol Winget of Hurst, Cheryl Myers of Carterville and Jim Greeney (Robin) of Herrin; and his nieces and nephews, Khrissy Hollister (Kendall), John Gooden (Sabrina), Jim Gooden, Jeremy Stefko, Brice Winget (Melissa), Bobby Winget and Tammy Alexander.

Due to ongoing COVID-19 restrictions, private graveside services with military rites by the Navy Honors Ritual Team will be held.

Memorial contributions are the preferred form of remembrance and will be graciously accepted to help the family offset his medical expenses.
