He was predeceased by: his parents, John Gillingham and Lora Wood Gillingham; his wife Patricia Short; and his siblings, Willis, Harry, John Jr. Gillingham, Lillian Helderman, Mary Hetelle, Neoma Schmidt, Louise Scheffel, JoAnn Roth and Betty Gerson.
He is survived by: his sons, Richard Gillingham (Becky) of Carrollton and David Gillingham (Jann) of Belleville; his grandchildren, Kara Short (Brian), Mark (Corie) and Luke Gillingham (Maddie); his stepgrandchildren, Ryan (Kate) and Kyle Blaha (Sean); his great grandchildren, Ava, Aden, Maclin Short, Collins, Miller Gillingham, Maddox, Mabry and Annie Blaha; and his sister Darlene Carmean. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Memorials may be made to Boyd Hospital, First Baptist Church, or Fellowship of Christian Athletes.
