She was predeceased by: her parents, Dewey Maholland and Margaret Strang Maholland; her son Michael; her husband Robert P. Hamel; and her sister Elaine M. Pritchett.
She is survived by: her children, Reverend Robert A. Hamel (Susan) of West Covina and Toni L. Carr (David) of Kane, Illinois; her grandchildren, Nicholas A. Hamel (Audra Yokley) of Chicago, Charissa L. Hamel of Des Moines, Iowa and Dorothea B. Hamel of Des Moines, Iowa; and her great grandchild Catherine O. Hamel of Chicago. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
