He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Dr. Joseph Hume and Sophia Marie Coates Patterson; his wife Mary Frances McCollister; his children, Melinda Miner of Springfield, Melissa Martin (Tom) of Roodhouse, Jamie Patterson of Columbia, MO, Andy Patterson of Auburn and Molly Hensley (Mike) of St. Louis; his sister Mary Lou Clark of Manchester; his sister-in-law Judi Humphrey of Paducah, KY.; and his siblings, Charles Patterson, Gene Patterson, Tom Patterson, Theo Spangenberg, Joan Powell and Fannie Patterson. He was also cherished by 11 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren.
