He was predeceased by: his parents, Ralph Prough and Lucy Prough (Turner); his siblings, Geraldine Prough, Lawrence and Glenn Prough; and his son-in-law Jim Cook.
He is survived by: his wife Marva Ringhausen; his children, Sarah Cook (Mike Hill) of Carrollton and Howard Prough (Melissa) of Carrollton; his grandson Ben Cook (Kristie); his great grandchildren, Maggie, Adele Hillis (Dawson), Landry Prough, Megan Prough and Wade Prough; his stepgrandchildren, Kyle Hill (Kayla) and Michael Hill (Jeannie); his siblings, Kenneth Prough (Betty) of Jerseyville, Barbara Foiles (Roger) of Carrollton and Betty Thiebaud (Franklin) of Dallas, TX; and also Velma Prough of Jerseyville. He is also survived by six step-great-grandchildren.
The family has requested memorial donations be made to the Mt. Gilead Cemetery or to the Jerseyville Nursing and Rehabilitation Center Activity Fund.
