He was predeceased by: his parents, Clifford Johnson and Doris Johnson (Baccus); his wife Sharon Nell McGhee; his daughter Shari M. Lane; and his brothers, Ross and Clifford "Junior" Johnson.

He is survived by: his daughter Rebellie Beavers (Kim) of Carterville; his grandchildren, Macey Rumsey (Kyle) of Carterville and Justin Beavers of Nashville, Tennessee; and his great grandchild Hartlan Jo Rumsey of Carterville.
