It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Gene Rightnowar of Carrier Mills, Illinois, born in Taylorville, Illinois, who passed away on November 6, 2022, at the age of 87, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his father Omar Rightnowar; his son Omer Eugene Rightnowar; his siblings, Don Rightnowar, Ann Harrum and Bert Wallace; and his grandson Caleb Rightnowar.
He is survived by: his children, Cathy Earnest (Jeff) of Greenup, Phillip R. Rightnowar of Terre Haute, IN, Dawan B. Rightnowar (Leslie) of Harrisburg and Shawn B. Rightnowar (Stanli) of Harrisburg; and his grandchildren, Holly Johnson (Rich), Hillary Perry (Matt), Christina Meek (Zach), Lynetta Hasten (Robert), T. J. Smith (Amy), Dalton Rightnowar (Julia), Cody Rightnowar (Kaylee), Mackenzi Rightnowar, Alexa McLanahan (Joe) and Abby Rightnowar (Shay McLanahan).
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the family to help offset expenses and will be accepted at the funeral home.
