Vela of Carpentersville, Illinois, born in White Castle, Louisiana, who passed away on April 22, 2023, at the age of 81, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Dolores Campos and Alberto Lara; her husband Eleopoldo Vela; and her siblings, Irene, Ramona, Dario, Nancy, Josefina, Manuel, Candelaria and Margarita.
She is survived by: her children, Diana Vela Diaz, Jacinto L. Vela (Pamela), Paul Vela, Eleopoldo E. Vela (Ana Cruz) and Belinda Torres (Rafael); and her siblings, Santiago (Roxanne), Alberto Lara and Consuela "Connie" Castillo (Rudy). She is also survived by her 13 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, neighbors, and friends.
