With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Ruth Brooks of Carol Stream, Illinois, born in Tunnel Hill, Illinois, who passed away on January 1, 2021 at the age of 95. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Vernie Whitehead and Jewel Mullinax Whitehead; her son Gary Lee Brooks; her siblings, Joe, Wayne, Ronald Whitehead and June Whitehead Miller; and her siblings-in-law, Ruth, Evelyn Whitehead and Herb Miller.

She is survived by: her sons, Glen "Bud" (Pat) and Dale (Jenny); her daughter-in-law Nancy Brooks; her grandchildren, Bryan (Michelle), Matt (Alicia), Ryan (Nancy), Jay (Jackie), Drew Brooks (Vy), Kristin Toohey (Joe) and Courtney Brooks (Spencer Cooper); and her great grandchildren, Isabella, Tommy, Abigail, Madeline, Annalyn, Everett, Lucy, JT, Kennedy, Logan Toohey, Nolan, Elliot and Tyler Brooks-Cooper. She is also survived by her 3 sons, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
