With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Richard Gerig of Carol Stream, Illinois, born in Fort Wayne, Indiana, who passed away on February 8, 2021 at the age of 98. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Sarah Gerig and Safara Gerig; his former wives, Wilma E. Gerig and Juliana Gerig; his brother Reginald Gerig; and his sister-in-law Connie Gerig.
He is survived by: his wife Julie; his children, Rodney (Linda Marie) of Morganton, NC and Linda Hoisington (Michael) of Grand Rapids, MI; and his grandchildren, Brent Gerig, Teresa Gerig Peterson, Joshilyn Hoisington and Amy Hoisington. He is also survived by five great grandchildren; as well as step children, step grandchildren and step great grandchildren.
