He was predeceased by: his parents, Michael V. and Wanda; and his sister Rosalie Hancock (Brian). He is survived by: his children, Lisa Steinam (Peter) and Michael V. (Margaret); his grandchildren, Carla Siddall (Harley), Peter Steinam, Matthew Steinam, Sean Kroll, Jennifer Kroll, Danielle Strickler and Tyler Kroll; and his sisters, Susan Anderson (Michael) and Sandra Keith (Radford).

“John & I were sorry to hear of Mike's passing. It was especially hard for John. They were friends in fellowship & shared each others struggles & victories. In good times we shared many a Friday night dinner along with good buddy Neil. Today I am the only one left. Neil left us first & John passed away last week. We were sad that Mike struggled with his illness at the end. When he was well he was a lively storyteller, a master craftsmen, a good friend. My condolences to his family. Maggie”
