He is survived by: his significant other Muriel Brown; his sons, Douglas Jr. (Linda), Charles (Brigid) and Andrew (Sandra); his grandchildren, Jessica Koors (Jacob), Jacqueline Larson (Karina), Jennifer Hoepfner (Timothy), Jacob Larson (Caitlin), Joshua Larson, Sydney Gifford, Benjamin Gifford (Tarynn), Phoebe Gifford, Seth Gifford (Alli) and Charlie Gifford; his great grandchildren, Ryne, Lindsey, Wolfgang, Archimedes, Rachel, Friedrich, Matthew and Renan; and his son Eagle Scouts.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks any donations to be made in Mr. Gifford's memory to Elmhurst Presbyterian Church.
