He was predeceased by: his parents, Oscar Yates and Mary Yates (Yates); and his siblings, Barbara Hodges and David Yates. He is survived by: his wife Erma Yates (Browning) of Carmi; his children, Dan Yates (Sarah) of Owensboro, Kentucky and Melissa Nelson (Mike Withrow) of Mt. Erie, Illinois; his sister-in-law Connie Yates of Carmi; his grandchildren, Andrea Gallego (Dylan), Bradley Yates, Jason Nelson (Emma VanBrunt), Bailey Yates (Christian West) and Briley Yates; his great grandchild Carter Gallego; his aunt Ruthie Yates; and his pet Ringo. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Monday, November 25th 2024 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the New Beginnings Church of God (401 W Sycamore St #14, Carmi, IL 62821). A funeral service will be held on Monday, November 25th 2024 at 12:00 PM at the same location.
