She was predeceased by: her father John Mathis; and her brother Johnny Mathis. She is survived by: her mother Mary Mathis (Churchill); her husband William R. "Bill" Higginson; her children, Myra Hillyard (Mark) of Carmi, Jeff Hamblin of Fort Branch, IN, Rick Higginson (Misty) of Edmond, OK and David Higginson (Missy) of Carmi; her siblings, Clifford Mathis (Rita) of Marble Hill, MO and Anita Condon (Pat) of Concord, CA; her grandchildren, Katie Rynkiewich (Kyle), Kristie Hoskins (Clay), Jake Higginson, Samantha Higginson, Lauren Higginson, Paige Davis (Jeff), Andi Anderson and Dan Anderson; and her great grandchildren, Reece, Reed Rynkiewich and Gigi Davis.

In lieu of flowers contributions may be made in Sue's memory to St. Jude Children's Hospital and will be accepted at Campbell Funeral Home in Carmi.
