With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Shirley Harper of Carmi, Illinois, who passed away on May 1, 2023 at the age of 86. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Jesse Merritt and Ruby Merritt (Simpson); her husband Wendell Harper; her daughter Lisa Holland (Heckler); and her brothers, Jewel Merritt (Mildred) and Jesse Merritt (Ann).
She is survived by: her sons, Rick Northcott (Shana) of Carmi, IL. and John Martin (Pam) of Boonville, IN; her grandchildren, Brandon Northcott (Kelly) of Carmi, IL, Kelsey Northcott of Carmi, IL, Jessica Northcott of Carmi, IL, Neal Northcott of Irvine, CA, Bryce Northcott of Evansville, IN, Jesse Martin (Katie) of Evansville, IN and Brian Phelps (Kimberly) of Conway, AR; her cousin Lauren Jones (David) of Evansville, IN.; her pet Candi; her stepchildren, Trudy Duvall (Don) of Carmi, IL and Terry Harper (Sherri) of Kingwood, TX; and her stepgrandchildren, Whitney Paprocki (Tony) of Swampscott, MA and Alli Harper of Spring, TX.. She is also survived by several great-grandchildren; one step great-granddaughter; numerous nieces, nephews.
In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made in Shirley's memory to Pets At Risk, and will be accepted at Campbell Funeral Home in Carmi, who is in charge of arrangements.
