He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Ralph W. Gates and Dorothy Gates (Abbey); and his spouse Janice L. Storey.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Richard's memory to the Richard Gates Memorial Football Scholarship, which will be awarded to a graduating CWC Football player and will be accepted at Campbell Funeral Home in Carmi or First Bank.
