With profound sadness, we say goodbye to Reta Blair of Carmi, Illinois, whose vibrant spirit touched the lives of many. Reta left this world on December 4, 2024 at the age of 86, leaving a void in the lives of so many people. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Halsey Fred and Mary Myrtle Higginson (Hon); her husband Thurman E. Blair; and her siblings, Helen Kuykendall, Mary Frances Hargrave, Harold Wayne Higginson and Bill Higginson.
She is survived by: her children, Perry Jacobs (Connie) of Crossville, IL, Ronja Canady of Crossville, IL. and Lisa Bass (Tim) of Carmi, IL; her grandchildren, Kelton Canady, Brandon Jacobs, Cody Jacobs, Kayci Heil, Kelsie Cutchin and Wesley Cutchin; her stepgrandson Israel Foster; her siblings, Gene Higginson of Farmington, NM. and Anna Ruth Wiggins of Homa, LA; and her close friends, Arlene Elmore, David and Shirley Bell. She is also survived by five great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Monday, December 9th 2024 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Campbell Funeral Home (609 W Main St, Carmi, IL 62821). A funeral service was held on Monday, December 9th 2024 at 12:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Reta's memory to St. Jude's Children's Hospital and will be accepted at Campbell Funeral Home in Carmi.
