It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Nellie Lucille Haywood of Carmi, Illinois, born in Mount Carmel, Illinois, who passed away on September 4, 2023, at the age of 98, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, William Bolden and Mamie Bolden (Carr); her husband Bill Haywood; and her siblings, John Bolden, Gertrude Siebert, Dallas Bolden, Benny Lee Bolden, Hattie Singer, Edward Bolden, Clyde, Claude Bolden, Gene Bolden and Charles Bolden.
She is survived by: her children, Missy Bishop (late Clifton Bishop) of Elmhurst, IL, Rita Mercer of Carmi, IL, Willie Logsdon (late Larry Logsdon) of Riverton, IL and Billie John Hilakos (Steve) of Lakeland, FL; her grandchildren, Rori Ann, Victor, Chris John, Casey, Dan, Doug, Kristina, Bill, Alexia, Andrea, Nicholas and Peter; and also Wanda Foster of Springfield, IL.
In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made in Nellie's memory to the Baptist Childrens Home in Carmi, and will be accepted at Campbell Funeral Home in Carmi who is in charge of arrangements.
