We are sad to announce that on March 16, 2023, at the age of 89, Mary Helen Mitchell (Carmi, Illinois) passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, John Hester Gass and Edna Gass (Morgan); her brother Charles Gass; and her sister-in-law Geraldine Gass. She is survived by: her significant other George Noble Mitchell; her nieces, Shawnna Gerding and Lynda Merrill; her nephew Jon Stephan Gass; her children-in-law, Chris, Barb Mitchell, Georgia Lynn, Ray Meier and Wanda Douglas; her caregivers, Lisa Partain, Jeanette Gass and Brenda Dishner; her stepson Chris Mitchell (Barbara); her stepson-in-law Ray Maier; her nephew Marty Gass; and her grandchildren, Kelly Taylor (Clint), Megan King (Bart), Ryan Mitchell (Jara), Sarah Meier, Elizabeth Meier and Hannah Spano (Caleb). She is also survived by 11 great-grandchildren.
