It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Gerald Hoy of Carmi, Illinois, born in Herald, Illinois, who passed away on December 12, 2020, at the age of 81, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Walter Wayne and Juanita Beryl Hoy (Catlin); and his brother Lindell Hoy. He is survived by: his children, Karen Shorb (Alan) of Carmi and Mark Hoy (Lavenia) of Carmi; his sister Sandy Redman (Jim) of Paducah, KY; his grandchildren, Morgan, Brittany, McKenzie and Annaleise; his stepgrandchildren, Randy and Cale; his great grandchildren, Jenna, Jacob and Oaklyn; and his stepgreat-grandchildren, Arionna, Adyn, Avery and Cash. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, friends.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Dean's memory to the Hamilton Memorial Hospital District Foundation, Attn: Bethany Reyling, 611 S. Marshall Ave., McLeansboro, IL 62859 and will be accepted at Campbell Funeral Home in Carmi who is in charge of arrangements.
