He was predeceased by: his parents, William C. Gowdy and Daisy Gowdy (Weirauch); his spouse Helen Barbre; his granddaughter Marisa Floyd; and his siblings, Charles Gowdy, Robert Gowdy, John Gowdy, Ken Gowdy, Margaret Bohleber and Leona McMullin.
He is survived by: his daughters, LaVonne Norville (James) of Huntsville and Donna Floyd (Rick) of Norris City; and his grandchildren, Carla Arnold, Brent Floyd (Amber), Jeffrey Norville and Joseph Floyd (Michelle). He is also survived by 11 great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
