It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Eleanor Jo Rankin of Carmi, Illinois, who passed away on July 20, 2022, at the age of 81, leaving to mourn family and friends. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Eleanor Jo Rankin to pay them a last tribute.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Ivan Taylor and Lucy Taylor (Files); her stepmother Lois; her sister Dorothy Preston; and her half-sister Marikay Wilkerson.
She is survived by: her husband Charles Rankin; her son Charlie Rankin (Jill); her grandsons, Dylan Rankin (Kelsey) and Devin Rankin; her great grandchild Ella Jayne Rankin of Carmi; her sisters, Jean Malone of Carmi and Linda Smothers (Roche) of Burnt Prairie, Illinois; and her half-siblings, Cheryl Johnson (Ed) of Chenoa, Illinois and Jimmy Taylor (Lisa) of Fairfield, Illinois. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Memorials may be made to Southeastern Illinois College Men's Basketball and will be accepted at Cook Funeral Chapel in Carmi.
