She was predeceased by: her parents, Earl Cowan and Lenora Cowan (Smith); her former husband John W. Russell; and her brothers, Ralph Smith, Jack Smith, Earl Cowan and Danny Smith.
She is survived by: her husband Richard Jones of Carmi, IL; her daughters, Patty Kieffer (Bryan) of Mt. Carmel, IL. and Debra Brown of Carmi, IL; her grandchildren, Alex Kieffer (Lucero), Adam Kieffer (Emily), Michael Shutt and Brittany Jovanovic (Alex); her great grandchildren, Oliver Kieffer, Leo Kieffer, Andrew Kieffer, Angel Jovanovic and Christina Jovanovic; her siblings, Nora Russell of Tennessee and Tom Smith of Evansville, IN; and her niece Shelly Russell of Sanford, CO.. She is also survived by numerous other nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Dorothy's memory to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital, and will be accepted at Campbell Funeral Home in Carmi.
