He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, James Hugh and Jane Sims (McSparin); his wife Donna Sims of Carmi, IL; his daughters, Katrina Sutton (Brandon) of Eldorado, IL. and Rhonda Cantrell (Cory) of Crossville, IL; his grandchildren, Justin Sutton, Autumn Pilkington, Savannah Reeder, Kingston Cantrell and Rigby Cantrell; his great grandchildren, Sawyer, Callan and Caedyn; his siblings, Ron Sims of Stonefort, IL and Betty Sims of Stonefort, IL; his aunt Marilyn Tanner; his mother-in-law Peggy Robinson of Marion, IL; and his sisters-in-law, Peggy Sprague and Patti Williams (Dave). He was also cherished by many nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Monday, March 10th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Campbell Funeral Home (609 W Main St, Carmi, IL 62821). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, March 11th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Donald's memory to the University of Louisville Burn Center.
