With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Dean Carter of Carmi, Illinois, born in Urbana, Illinois, who passed away on July 6, 2023 at the age of 93. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Dean Carter to pay them a last tribute.
He was predeceased by: his daughters, Carrie May, Deana Helfrich and Pamela Jo Reed. He is survived by: his wife Faye L. Bratton; his stepchildren, Keith Bratton (Dawn) of Newburgh, IN and Kendra Winter (Craig) of Carmi; and his brother Tom Carter (Judy) of Casey, IL. He is also survived by several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Dean's memory to the Ronald McDonald House Charities of the Ohio Valley, 3540 Washington Ave., Evansville, IN 47714 and will be accepted at Campbell Funeral Home, 609 W. Main St., Carmi, IL 62821 who is assisting the family with arrangements.
