It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Betty Prater of Carmi, Illinois, born in Tamaroa, Illinois, who passed away on September 26, 2024, at the age of 92, leaving to mourn family and friends. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Theodore Rice and Viola Rice (Martin); her husband John Prater; her great grandchild Cody Carraker; and her sister Imagene Goforth.
She is survived by: her children, Dan Vickers (Denise) of Pawnee, IL and Kathleen Mallory (Norman) of Emma, IL; her grandchildren, Tracy Heil (Greg), Sara Cunningham (Damian), Jesse Vickers (Bobby), Christopher Vickers (Loretta), Bobby Wilson (Lori), Lisa Leaser (J. D.) and Amy Wilson; her great grandchildren, Kirsten Heil, Audrey Heil, Nicholas Heil, Kayla Carraker, Raina Cunningham, Zeah Vickers, Jesse Nell Vickers, Briana Vickers, McKenna Vickers, Braden Vickers, Jordan Vickers, Cassie Welch and Trevor Lash; and her sister Rosemary "Teddi" Ramirez. She is also survived by eleven great-great-grandchildren.
Memorials in Betty's honor may be made to First Baptist Church, Pana and will be accepted by McCracken-Dean Funeral Home who is assisting the family.
