William Thurman Obituary
With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of William Thurman of Carlyle, Illinois, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on December 10, 2024 at the age of 71. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, William R. Thurman and Bertha Mae Smith; his wife Barbara Ann Dempsey; his son Stephen Ray Thurman; and his stepmother Barbara E. Thurman.
He is survived by: his daughter-in-law Denise Thurman of Centralia; his granddaughters, Raeann and Carissa Thurman of Centralia; his brothers, Dennis Thurman (Rhonda) of Taylorville, IL and Bruce Thurman (Patricia) of West Frankfort, IL.; his half-sisters, Angela Hill of Rogers, Joyce Smith of Crossett and Lisa Knapp of Beckemeyer; and his sisters-in-law, Brenda Tinsley (Steve) of Centralia and Phyllis Branch (Doug) of Centralia. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
In honor of Bill's memory, the family suggests memorial contributions to the Tunnel to Towers Foundation, which can be made at Nordike Funeral Home, located at 740 Fairfax Street, Carlyle, IL 62231.
