It is with great sadness that we announce the death of James Lockart (Carlyle, Illinois), born in Vandalia, Illinois, who passed away on February 14, 2025, at the age of 63, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his mother Carol S. Lockart (Lowber); his grandparents, Edward T. and Ina Belle Lowber; his father-in-law Homer B. Gum; and his uncles, Robert Lowber (Lelia) and James Lowber.
He is survived by: his wife Cindy S. Lockart; his father James F. Lockart; his sister Cynthia S. Lockart; his niece Sue Ann Kleiboeker (Jim); his nephews, Eric Lockart (Brooke) and Kyle Lockart; his stepdaughters, Elizabeth Leroy and Heather Mollet (Tom); his grandchildren, Tyler Leroy, Chase Leroy and Alyssa Miller; his great grandchild Havyn Leroy; his great-nieces, Alisha Kleiboeker, Kenzi Lockart and Evelyn Lockart; his great-nephew Tyler Kleiboeker; his mother-in-law Patricia Gum; and his siblings-in-law, Rick Groeteka (Helen), Kevin Gum (Claudia), Mark Groeteka (Robin) and Vicky Jackson. He is also survived by good friends and neighbors.
A celebration of life was held on Thursday, February 20th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Zieren Funeral Home (1111 Clinton St, Carlyle, IL 62231).
