He was predeceased by: his parents, Louis Erlinger and Sophia Erlinger (Schmitt); his son Rodney Louis Erlinger; his siblings, Ray Erlinger, Trix Erlinger, Cyrilla Huene, Marge Pax, Adrian Erlinger and Laverne Erlinger; and his parents-in-law, Marie Stoffel and John Bretz.
He is survived by: his wife Edna Bretz; his children, Terri Lynn Philippi (Mark) of St. Louis, Missouri, Randy L. Erlinger (Barb) of Colorado Springs, Jeffrey L. Erlinger (Lisa) of Salem and Todd L. Erlinger (Michelle) of Pensacola, Florida; his grandchildren, Randi Lynn Deterding, Wesley Erlinger and Taylor Schaefer; and his great grandchildren, Lucas, Logan, Emma, Jaxon, Walker, Cecilia and Charlie.
