He was predeceased by: his parents, Theodore Wessel and Ida Wessel (Grefe); his wife Margaret Donneman; and his siblings, LeRoy Wessel (Gladys), Edwin Wessel, Irvin Wessel (Bernice), Gilbert Wessel (Evelyn), Alfred Wessel, Hilda Armstrong, Dorothy Liman, Ruth Hanenberger, Marcella Mensing and Amanda Monken.
He is survived by: his daughter Chyrl Wessel of Collinsville; and his brothers, Ted Wessel (Rosalie) of Florida and Wayne Wessel (Lola) of Carlyle. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
